Setting up my own category page is much easier than I thought it would be now that I’ve found the Wordpress functions I need (query_pages and single_cat_title)! Now to look up PHP string concatenation because I seem to have forgotten the syntax.

If you’re doing any sort of custom work, query_pages is a huge help; it lets you filter the posts that Wordpress will display on a page. Here's the reference in the Wordpress Codex.

String concatenation is done by placing periods between each string or string variable you want to put together. The more you know!

Found to great sites for PHP help and tutorials. The first one, http://devzone.zend.com/article/627 is for beginners who need to catch up on all the PHP stuff we’ve done like me. And this site http://www.homeandlearn.co.uk/php/php.html looks to have everything you’d ever want to know about PHP. Hope it’s useful for some of yall

this probably would have saved a little bit of frustration on my part, but still very helpful even after the assignment

For those of you getting more into PHP, you might want to check out the Top 25 Most Dangerous Programming Errors. Server scripting can be a lot of fun, but if someone finds a hole you’ve left, your server will be in for a world of hurt. There are programs that will scan for these sorts of things, too, but I’m not really sure which ones are good/kept up to date. Suggestions?

Thanks for the link Harrison. I haven’t read it yet, but am going to read it. I’m really trying to get this programming thing down so I can have a better understanding of back end processes. The more I know the better.

Really useful and now I’m looking for any article that’s a “most common errors” for everything we’re doing now. It’s so important to do everything right the first time around while it’s still an easy fix

I like programming, but even small errors can completely mess you up. I once spent 3 hours going over code with another guy before we figured out that one small ordering problem had caused the entire program to misfunction
