Hello! My name is Eric Finger and I am a student at the University of North Texas majoring in Art and Technology. Before we go much further, let’s put a face with the name using this very flattering picture of me, taken in my bathroom, naturally-
As I said, I am majoring in Art & Technology at UTDallas, which I like to think of as a fancy way of saying “I want to make video games.” I recently moved back to Dallas from Denton, where I attended the University of North Texas. I lived in Denton for over two years and had a wonderful, enriching time there, but I gradually realized that the school and the communication design program I was enrolled in just weren’t thrilling me any longer, and that staying there would only waste more time. This would be the fourth time I have changed my major, having started (but not finishing) programs in art, graphic design, and psychology. However, this is my second semester at UTDallas and I am settling in quite nicely. The program suits me very well. I have been producing art in some way since I was a small child, and I have been tinkering with coding and building computers for almost as long. Living in Dallas again has been nice. While I miss the artsy college town feel of Denton, I’m enjoying my new apartment, old friends, and new school.
My other interests/hobbies, many of which you may see on this blog from time to time, include playing the guitar, cooking, video games, tech in general, and endless time spent in front of my computer. Oh, and I’m a total trekkie, which is one of my not-so-guilty pleasures. At the moment, this is all I can think of to say about myself, but more will become evident with time. Hi Eric, welcome back to Dallas. After community college I was planning to go to North Texas for Computer Science, but then I found UTD’s ATEC program. Thankfully I’ve only had to change my degree once. When I originally applied to UTD I put arts and humanities as my degree instead of arts and technology. See you in class (Cool hair by the way).

What part of making video games interests you the most? Also, what kind of games do you like the most?
So, as a trekkie, do you like the newest Star Trek movie that came out last year? Which do you prefer, kirk or picard? lol!! ^_^ I don’t know alot about the series, but I have some friends that are really into it. They have pretty strong opinions on these matters.
